Itinerary
UYUNI SALAR TOUR FULL DAY
The experience begins with a pick-up from your hotel to join the group and start the uyuni salar tour. The first stop is the train cemetery, which we can reach within the first 15 minutes. Here, we can enjoy a guided tour of a group of locomotives dating back to the 19th century. After that, we will head to the community of Colchani, located on one of the edges of the salt flat. This is where we will have a more traditional and experiential experience, as we can witness the incredible process of salt production. Additionally, there is a great variety of handicrafts based on this mineral available here.
Finally, it is time to enter Uyuni. Along the way, we will pass by one of the famous monuments of the Dakar Rally, the Playa Blanca museum, and the Plaza de las Banderas. This place is popular because many travelers leave the flag of their country as a reminder. We will also visit one of the icons of the entire salt flat: the salt stairs made by the artist Gaston Ugalde. We will take advantage of the time to take as many photos as possible. In the afternoon, we will visit the island of Incahuasi, where our experience ends on the shores of the salt flat. Here, we can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world before returning to the town of Uyuni.

Is travel insurance necessary?
While it is not mandatory, we strongly recommend it as a precautionary measure to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during your trip. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Can I visit this destination year-round?
Yes, but the best views are during the rainy season from December to April. Outside of that time, rain is infrequent, so the mirror effect may not always be visible.
